Overview

The homepage is not where you lose the sale

Homepages get all the attention in ecommerce projects and almost none of the revenue. The money is decided on the collection page, the product page and the three screens between add to cart and payment.

We plan ecommerce builds backwards from the checkout. What has to be true for someone to pay, what objections appear, where does the current store make people think. Then we design forward from there.

Discovery that matches how people shop

Filtering, search, sort order and merchandising rules do more for revenue than another homepage banner. If your catalogue is large enough that people browse, the filter design is one of the highest value decisions in the project.

Choosing the platform honestly

Shopify suits most stores. WooCommerce suits complex pricing and content led catalogues. Headless suits large catalogues with a real engineering team. We will tell you which one fits and why, including when the answer is the cheaper option.

Scope

What lands in your account

Everything below is included at the stated price. Anything outside it gets quoted before work starts, never after.

  • Platform recommendation with the reasoning written down
  • Full store design across every template
  • Product page and collection page optimisation
  • Filtering, search and merchandising setup
  • Checkout configuration and payment gateways
  • Shipping, tax and fulfilment integration
  • Product schema and rich result markup
  • Email and abandoned cart flows connected
  • Ecommerce analytics and event tracking
  • Team training and written documentation

Why it works

The parts that make the difference

01

Checkout first planning

We map the purchase path before the homepage, because that is where the revenue decision happens.

02

Merchandising you control

Collection ordering, badges, cross sells and bundles managed by your team from the admin.

03

Honest platform advice

We are not resellers. If Shopify is the right answer over a custom build, we will say so.

04

Tracking that reconciles

GA4, server side events and platform reporting configured so the numbers agree with each other.

Process

How a ecommerce website project runs

You get a named contact, a shared board and a weekly update. No agency black box.

  1. Step 1

    Commercial discovery

Margins, best sellers, returns, average order value and where the current funnel drops people.

    Week 1
  2. Step 2

    Structure and merchandising

Catalogue structure, filtering logic and the rules that decide what appears first.

    Week 2
  3. Step 3

    Design and build

Templates designed and built on staging, with real products loaded rather than placeholder data.

    Weeks 3 to 8
  4. Step 4

    Test, launch, watch

Full checkout testing on real cards, launch, then two weeks of close monitoring on the funnel.

    Weeks 8 to 10
